BTen: Carpinteria routs Nordhoff

Carpinteria evened its record in the Tri-Valley League with a 17-1 victory over Nordhoff on Tuesday. The result snapped a two-match losing streak.

The Warriors dropped only one game in nine singles sets. No. 2 Collin Nathanson went 3-0 on the day.

Oscar Mejia and Francis Aguilera each won a set, which pleased coach Charles Bryant.

“They were awesome. Oscar was definitely a little nervous but be performed really well. Francis, too, played well, moving his opponent around and just playing consistent,” said Bryant.

In doubles, the teams of Ruben Andrade/Bryan Taira and Jacob Ascencio/Sam Truax each went
3-0.

Carpinteria is now 6-3 overall and 1-1 in the Tri Valley League.
