San Marcos lost today to number one ranked Laguna beach in the third round of the irvine tournament 10 to 14.
San Marcos High hung with top-ranked Laguna Beach until the final quarter and dropped a 14-10 decision in the quarterfinals of the Southern California Champions on Friday.
“Although we lost the match we had a great showing,” San Marcos coach Chuckie Roth said.
San Marcos was down by one at halftime, 8-7.
Freshman Paige Hauschild scored 5 goals to lead the Royals. Kate Coski scored two and Halie Johnson and Brittany Prentice each had one.
The Royals play Santa Barbara at 8 am for places 5-8.
