GLF: Gauchos settle for 12th at Farms Collegiate

RANCHO SANTA FE – Derek Trofimczuk finished tied for 20th and UC Santa Barbara was 12th at the The Farms Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday.

The Gauchos shot a 44-over par 908 and finished one shot back of 11th-place Denver and two shots behind Fresno State.

In addition to Trofimczuk, who shot a 7-over par 223 and had his best finish ever, Hunter Robinson tied for 36th at 11-over par, and Jordan Epstein tied for 39th at 12-over par.

The host school, University of San Diego, won the tournament going away. The Toreros were 4-under par 860 and they finished 14 shots ahead of Kennesaw State. USD’s Grant Forrest and Kennesaw State’s Jimmy Beck tied for individual honors at 6-under par. Duke’s Motin Yeung was the only other player to shot under par as he finished a 3-under.

The Gauchos return to action at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate, hosted by the University of Wyoming at The Classic Club in Palm Desert, Calif.
