UC Santa Barbara sophomore basketball player John Green, who played in the last two games after missing virtually all of his first two-and-a-half seasons with injuries to his feet, will miss the remainder of the 2013-14 season after fracturing his right wrist in practice on Monday, head coach Bob Williams announced Tuesday.

“I feel so bad for John,” Williams said. “It doesn’t seem fair. To have gone through so much to get back, play in two games, and then to have this happen. I can’t even express how badly I feel for him.”

Green played a total of 13 minutes in UCSB wins over UC Davis and at Hawaii. In his last appearance, a six-minute stint in Honolulu on Feb. 6, he had four points and three rebounds.

Green was a highly regarded prep recruit who scored 17 points in his UCSB debut as a freshman in November, 2011. He has barely played since.
