Carpinteria High School’s Connor Kelsey has committed to play football at Oregon State University as a long snapper.

“He has been perfect for two years,” said Carpinteria head coach Ben Hallock back in December, soon after the Warriors completed their best season in a decade. “In 30-plus years of coaching, he is flat-out the best (long-snapper) I have ever had.”

During the 2013 season for the Warriors, Connor was perfect snapping, he was 9-for-9 on field goal snaps, 53-for-53 on PAT snaps, and 31-for-31 on punt snaps. As a result, Kelsey received All-Tri-Valley League honors, was on Presidio Sports’ All-City Team, and the News-Press All-County Team.

Kelsey will report to Fall Camp on August 1st.

Oregon State went 7-6 last season, defeating Boise State in the Aloha Bowl. The Beavers will begin their 2014 season on August 30th at home against Portland State.
