BBK: Providence falls in second round

Freshman Asher Luberto made six three-pointers, but it wasn’t enough as Providence fell to third-seeded Joshua Springs, 53-47, in a CIF Division 6 boys basketball second-round playoff game on Friday in Yucca Valley.

The Patriots led 31-28 at halftime but they experienced a scoring drought in the third quarter and fell behind by 10 points. They got as close as six in the final quarter.

Luberto finished with 18 points and senior Erik Sheets had 15 points and eight rebounds.

Providence finished the season at 11-10, its first winning season since joining the CIF.
