BBK: Bishop gets blown out by Oaks Christian

Oaks Christian’s high pressure defense was too much for Bishop Diego to handle, and the Cardinals lost 90-38 in the Tri-Valley League boys basketball finale on Wednesday.

The Cardinals fell behind 31-12 in the first quarter.

“We didn’t handle their pressure well at all,” said Bishop coach Dean Prophet.

Grant Sexton led Bishop with 16 points, while Nick Busch added nine points. Coach Prophet praised the play of AV Bennett off the bench.

The Cardinals finish the regular season at 15-5 overall and 6-4 in the TVL. They’ll learn their CIF playoff draw on Sunday.
