WBK: Cold shooting costs Vaqueros

Moorpark held SBCC to 12 first-half points on Wednesday and went on to defeat the visiting Vaqueros 58-43 in a WSC North women’s basketball game.

Riley Abraham, the No. 2 scorer in the conference, led the Raiders (11-8, 2-1) with 25 points. Mhiah Vickers had 16 points and six rebounds for the Vaqueros (9-7, 1-1), who had their three-game win streak snapped.

Moorpark outshot the Vaqueros 43 to 20 percent and won the board battle, 45-32.

Santa Barbara tallied just five points in the first 9½ minutes and fell behind 15-5. The Vaqueros trailed 27-12 at intermission. It was Moorpark’s second win over SBCC this season.

SBCC travels to No. 13 Cuesta on Saturday for a 5 p.m. contest
