Santa Barbara Coast Volleyball Academy after earning a Junior National bid

The Santa Barbara Coast Volleyball Academy boys 14’s earned an invitation to the Junior Nationals in Houston by going undefeated over a two day span in the Boys Invitational played in Anaheim.

After coasting thru pool play on Friday, SB defeated a scrappy Ku’Ikahi team (Hawaii) 25-12, 32-30 to advance to the gold bracket. In the Gold, Coast defeated Ka’Uluaoa (Ohau, HI) in three sets, then breezed by Team Rockstar of Long Beach to set up a showdown with No. 2 overall seed San Gabriel Elite.

San Gabriel took game one, 19-25, and game two was tied 20-20 before Santa Barbara won 25-22. In the final frame, Santa Barbra led 8-4 on the side change. In the end outside hitter Dax Galvan hammered match point down the line to clinch the 15-11 game win and the Junior National bid.

With the victory Coast also earned a first round bye in Sunday’s gold bracket playoffs and will face the winner of 949 (Orange County) vs. Mountain View (No. Cal). SB Coast is now 20-4 on the season.
