Carpinteria rallied from two goals down in the fourth period to tie Oaks Christian and send the Tri-Valley League girls water polo game into overtime.
Each team scored a goal in the first overtime, and Oaks Christian prevailed by scoring at 1:32 of sudden death overtime for a 10-9 decision.
“Our girls played with a lot of heart, especially coming back in the 4th quarter,” Carpinteria coach Bryan Swarm said. “Our centers carried our offense today, unfortunately the great goalie play by Oaks neutralized our perimeter shooting which was the difference in the game.”
Maya Grant and Brenda Rodriguez each scored three goals to lead Carpinteria (7-15, 1-5)
