Cate scored six unanswered goals in the first period en route to a 9-4 girls water polo win over Oaks Christian on Wednesday.
“The first quarter of play saw some of the best water polo of the year from our team,” Cate coach Nathan Alldredge said.
The Rams improve to 7-1 overall and 4-1 in the Tri-Valley League.
Sophia Soriano scored four goals from inside and off the counterattack, and Caroline Montgomery pumped in three goals from the outside,
Cate received some great goalie play from junior Bella Shealy (10 saves) and some timely goals from senior Sophie Maes and junior Lydia Stevens.
The win sets up a much-anticipated matchup with Malibu next Wednesday.
