Carpinteria broke into the win column in the Tri-Valley League with a 17-7 victory over Villanova in a girls water polo match.
Allison Wagner scored five goals and Maya Grant and Brenda Rodriguez each tallied four goals for the Warriors, who roared out to an 8-3 lead by halftime.
“We started with great defense and were able to take enough shots where our offense started to roll a little,” Carpinteria coach Bryan Swarm said. “It was a much needed league win after dropping our first three league games.”
Carpinteria is 1-3 in the TVL and 5-10 overall.
