Anna Brummett scored eight goals on the day, leading Santa Barbara High’s girls water polo team to a pair of victories and a fifth-place finish at the Newport Harbor Holiday Cup on Saturday.
Brummett tallied three goals in a 13-8 win over Rosary and followed that a five-goal performance in an 8-7 victory over Santa Margarita.
The Dons roared out to a 7-0 lead against Rosary. Seven different players scored goals in the win, led by Brummett and Jessee Ransone with three each. Erin McGeoy had a team-high five steals and Jessica Gaffney handed out three assists.
Against Santa Margarita, Betsy Hendrix added two goals and Jessie Brummett had three assists.
The Dons return to Channel League play on Tuesday at Dos Pueblos.
