BSoc: Bishop can’t hold lead in second half

Jacob Brosnan scored two goals for Bishop Diego, but Santa Clara rallied from a 3-2 deficit in the second half and beat the Cardinals 5-3 in a Frontier League boys soccer match on Tuesday.

After Dylan Pierce gave Bishop Diego a 3-2 lead in the 50th minute, Santa Clara responded with three unanswered goals. The Saints tied the score in the 54th minute and took a 4-3 lead on a penalty kick in the 62nd minute. They added an insurance goal in the 74th minute,

Brosnan got Bishop off to a fast start, scoring his first goal in the opening minute of the match.

Santa Clara scored goals in the 30th and 37th minutes to take a 2-1 halftime lead.

Brosnan tied the score with a goal in the 45th minute.
