BBK: Dons run all over Buena, 80-49

Santa Barbara High cranked up its transition game and ran Buena out of JR Richards Gym, 80-49, to stay undefeated in the Channel League.

The Dons raced out to a 22-11 lead and kept on running and moving the ball.

We did a great job of sharing the ball tonight,” Dons assistant coach Andy Gil said. “The more players that touch it the better off we are.”

Santa Barbara had 26 assists as a team.

Bolden Brace played a solid game, scoring 15 points, grabbing five rebounds and playing tough defense.

“Bolden Brace is a dynamic sophomore guard who showed composure tonight and some toughness on the defensive end,” said Gil.

Jack Baker recorded a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds, and blocked three shots. David Trujillo scored 12 points, Isaiah Tapia added 10 points, Chris Wagonhurst had nine points and three steals and Noah Burke contributed nine points.

“It was a good team win, everyone contributed,” said Gil

Santa Barbara improves to 13-2 and 3-0 in league play. The Dons have won 11 straight league games dating back to last season. Buena is 10-8, 2-2.
