Three Santa Barbara area water polo players have been named to the USA Women’s Senior National team for the Holiday Cup tournament.
Kami Craig, Kiley Neushul and Sami Hill were chosen to the roster by head coach Adam Krikorian. Craig , an Olympic gold medalist, is a Santa Barbara High alum, while Neushul and Hill played their high school water polo at Dos Pueblos.
The Holiday Cup features six international teams and will run from Wednesday, Dec. 11 through Sunday, Dec. 15 at Foothill High in Santa Ana. The United States is joined by Australia, Canada, Greece, the Netherlands, and Russia in the competition. Team USA just returned home from Canada where they took first place at the Canada Cup, defeating Australia 12-10 in a shootout victory on Sunday. Hill blocked two Aussie attempts in the shootout to help the Americans win the title.
The U.S. opens the Holiday Cup against the Netherlands on Wednesday, plays Canada on Thursday, Russia on Friday, Australia on Sunday and finishes the tournament against Greece on Sunday.
