Goalie Britten Vilander kept Dos Pueblos close with second-ranked Foothill before the Knights pulled away in the fourth quarter and beat the Chargers 10-6 on Tuesday.
Vilander made seven saves in the first half and 11 for the game. She also stopped a penalty shot.
“She made some great blocks,” DP coach Chris Parrish said. “It was 5-5 in the third period, based on her performance. She had a great showing today.”
Foothill capitalized on some defensive lapses and went on a run in the final period to pull away to the win.
Toni Shackleford scored three goals to lead DP, while Jordan Williams scored two and Whitney Steidl tallied on.
The Chargers (5-1) are off until Jan. 4.
