Mikaela Li scored nine of her 11 points in the first quarter to get Cate’s girls basketball team off to a great start on its way to a 48-31 victory over Providence.
It was the final game of the Bishop Diego/Laguna Blanca Tournament for both teams.
Elan Halpern, out the last two games with a hurt ankle, then picked up the torch and scored 10 points for the Rams in the second quarter. Cate built a 39-10 lead by halftime.
Miriam Weiss contributed nine points and 10 rebounds. Delaney Mayfield finished with eight points and eight rebounds.
