Dos Pueblos turned in a stellar defensive performance and goalie Emil Huebner stopped a penalty shot, as the Chargers posted their 20th water polo win with an 11-3 romp over Ventura on Thursday in a Channel League match.
The Chargers allowed two goals in the second period and blanked Ventura until there were 18 seconds left in the game. Huebner was outstanding in the cage, stopping seven shots, including the penalty shot by Ventura’s top player Matt Jarvis. He also had a steal.
Offensively, Blake Parrish poured in seven goals, Jake Griffin tallied three and Quinn Peacock score one goal for the Chargers, who finish Channel League undefeated at 8-0 and improve to 20-7.
The Chargers close out the regular season Friday at home against Royal.
