Carpinteria’s boys soccer team rebounded from a season-opening loss to Buena with a 6-3 win over Nordhoff.
Brandon Landeros and Victor Saldana each scored two goals against Nordhoff, which took a 1-0 lead i n the second minute. Landeros tied the score in the 28th minute, finishing a cross from Juan Pablo Alvarez. A minute later, Landeros scored again.
Juan Carlos Orozco and Alvarez also scored goals for the Warriors (1-1-0).
Luis Garcia Ricky Zermeno, Alvarez and Francisco Arroyo provided assists.
“Our confidence and team chemistry builds with each day,” coach Leo Quintero said.”Patience and a strong belief system is what the young men are encouraged to have.”
The Warriors fell to Buena 3-2.
