Presidio Sports’ County Football Fab 5

Dos Pueblos climbs into the Presidio Sports football rankings for the first time.

The Chargers put on an impressive performance in the first half against Santa Barbara, roaring out to a 28-0 lead before settling for a 28-12 win in the Channel League opener.

Coach Nate Mendoza has brought this team along gradually, and it’s now reaching its stride. Quarterback Barrett Burnes continues to play efficiently, Tyler Welch is running at full speed and Leshon Bell is making plays at several positions. Defensively, the Chargers were solid against the Dons. Linebacker David Blevins was all over the field.

DP faces another emotional game this week as it plays host to Goleta Valley rival San Marcos. A Chargers’ victory will give them the City Championship.
