Vanesa Villa shot a 6-over 78 to take second place on Monday, leading the SBCC women?s golf team to its fifth straight win in WSC No. 5 at the Santa Barbara Golf Club.

Kendall Huser of Bakersfield was the medalist with a 77.

Fanny Johansson and Megan Herrera shot 81 for Santa Barbara and Saralisa Ortega carded an 83 on a day when all six Vaqueros shot 84 or lower.

?I was happy to see all our scores in a group,? said coach Chuck Melendez. ?I thought we?d play a little better on our home course but we?ve had some illnesses lately and that caused people to miss some practices.?
SBCC shot 323 and beat runner-up Canyons by 27 shots. The Vaqueros are 49-3 on the season and 20-0 in conference, five games ahead of the Cougars.

The Vaqueros will compete in WSC No. 6 on Monday at Brookside GC in Pasadena.
