CIF Polls: No. 1 Bishop faces another big test

After playing one top-10 CIF Northwest Division football team, unbeaten Bishop Diego takes on another this weekend in the power-packed Tri-Valley League.

The Cardinals travel to face the sixth-ranked Santa Paula Cardinals on Friday night. Santa Paula lost to No. 3 Oak Park (35-17) while Bishop Diego defeated No. 4 Carpinteria (24-6).

“It was nice to win the rivalry game with Carpinteria, but in the big picture it’s nice to get a league win, which is probably the most important thing in a
competitive league,” said Bishop Diego coach Tom Crawford.

No. 2 Nordhoff and third-ranked Oak Park square off in other TVL battle. Nordhoff beat Sierra Canyon last Friday.
