Carpinteria gave up five goals in the first 2:30 and dropped a 17-6 decision to Malibu in a Tri-Valley League boys water polo match on Wednesday.
“We were outgunned, but we fought hard for the rest of the game and gave it our all and that is all we can ask of our players when facing such a dominating team in league play,” said Carpinteria coach Bryan Swarm.
Noah Reed scored three goals and Thomas Fly added two goals for Carpinteria (6=13, 1-5).
