Jake Griffin shut down Ventura’s top player, and Blake Parrish, Scott Mahan and Tyler Gustason each scored three goals, leading Dos Pueblos to a 12-6 win over Ventura in a Channel League boys water polo match on Tuesday.
“It was a great overall defensive game,” said DP coach Chris Parrish, who singled out Griffin for his work. Griffin had two steals and scored a pair of goals.
Blake Parrish drew six ejections and goalie Emil Huebner made eight saves and had two steals.
The Chargers completed the first round of Channel League play at 4-0. They’re 10-6 overall and play at Santa Barbara on Thursday.
