A sweep in doubles and a perfect day by Renee Handley in singles led the San Marcos girls tennis team to a 16-2 win over Buena in the Channel League opener on Tuesday.
“It was a nice beginning to our league season,” said Royals first-year coach Fred Hartzman.
In doubles, the teams of Carley McDaniel-Francesca Diamond and Summer Bosse-Sarah Douglas went 3-0. Amber Rowley-Alexis Flores won one set and Aanavi Karandikar-Olivia Sturman won the other two sets.
