Melissa Jewkes shot 45 in the wind at La Cumbre Country Club to earn medalist honors and lead San Marcos to a 259-270 Channel League girls golf win over Ventura on Thursday.
“La Cumbre was in great shape but it is certainly a challenging course,” San Marcos coach Sarah Ashton said. “Today’s win was a great team effort and I am proud of the team’s focus against another strong opponent.”
San Marcos improves to 7-1 and 2-1 in league play. The Royals face Santa Barbara on Tuesday at La Cumbre.
