Cate’s boys water polo team started the year off with a win, besting visiting Channel Islands 14-4 Wednesday afternoon.
Zack Allen led the Rams’ offensive surge with five goals. Sophomore Alex Brown added three goals and sophomore Patrick Prestridge and Will Hogue scored two apiece.
Senior Mathew Firestone provided the toughness in front of the cage, drawing multiple ejections, said coach Nathan Aldredge. Also notable was sophomore goalie Sam Furmanski’s first varsity game between the posts, which saw him net 12 saves on the day.
