San Marcos spread the scoring around and defeated visiting eighth-ranked Damien on Saturday in a battle of top-10 CIF Division 2 boys water polo teams.
Shane Hauschild scored four goals and five other players contributed a goal for the No. 10 Royals (2-0).
“I was proud of the team effort today as we were able to get some more guys involved,” said San Marcos coach JefF Ashton. “I thought Ben Hauschild played a really solid all-around game and had a crucial shot block late in the game after Damien had earned a 6 on 5.”
