WSoc: Miramar jumps on SBCC early

San Diego Miramar scored three goals in the first 18 minutes on Saturday and the SBCC women’s soccer team couldn’t recover in a 3-1 loss at the Ventura Tournament.

Emilie Netteberg converted a penalty kick in the 26th minute to get the Vaqueros (1-2) on the board. The Jets were ranked No. 6 nationally in a preseason poll.

“It was fairly even after we scored but you can’t let a good team get a big early lead,” said coach John Sisterson. “The second half was much better for us, but we couldn’t convert our chances.”

The Vaqueros travel to L.A. Valley for a 4 p.m. game on Friday.
