Eleven Foresters headed to CCL All-Star game

Santa Barbara pitcher Patrick Weigel is a CCL All-Star.

The Santa Barbara Foresters are sending 11 players to the?California Collegiate League All-Star Game on Wednesday in Los Angeles.

The CCL All-Star Game will be played at the MLB Urban Youth Academy in Compton at 7PM. Fox Sports West will televise the game live.

The Foresters’ eleven All-Star representatives are Garrett Mattlage, Tejay Antone, Colt Atwood, Drew Van Orden, Louie Lechich, Patrick Weigel, Parker French, Joey Epperson, Ben Johnson, Jerry McClanahan and Ryan O’Hearn.

The Foresters and San Luis Obispo Blues are each sending 11 players, while the Los Angeles Brewers, with 12, are sending the most of the eight CCL teams. Matt Tietz of the Brewers leads the league in home runs with eight and batting average at .387.

Also making the roster for the North squad is Santa Barbara High graduate Jeff Paschke, playing this summer for the Santa Paula Halos.

Jameson Wicks (Los Angeles Brewers) and Jimmy Walker (Santa Paula Halos) will be the head coaches of?the CCL South and CCL North teams, respectively, by virtue of compiling the best winning percentage in their division as of July 1.
