SWM: Valente, Parrish don’t hold back at Channel League Prelims

Dos Pueblos’ Blake Parrish and Alex Valente set new meet records at preliminary meet of the Channel League Swimming & Diving Championships on Wednesday.

Parrish’s time of 57.06 in the 100 breaststroke broke a 31-year-old record while Valente topped a record set in 1986 with a time of 50.13 in the 100 butterfly.

Parrish also won the 100 free in 47.58 and Valente beat the field in the 100 backstroke.

Walker Bell gave Dos Pueblos three double-event winners, grabbing the top seed for Thursday’s finals in the 500 free and 100 IM.

Thursday’s finals are at Dos Pueblos’ Elings Aquatic Center.
