It’s hard not to notice Joe Salcedo on the football field for Bishop Diego. After all, he’s 6-6 and 265 pounds.
Two NCAA Division 1 football programs like what they see in Salcedo and have offered scholarships to the junior offensive tackle.
Bishop football coach Tom Crawford reports that Nevada and San Diego State have made offers to the All-Tri-Valley League player.
“At 6-6, 265, colleges are impressed with Joe’s athleticism, character and academics,” said Crawford. “He is an excellent student as evident by the fact that, in addition to the offering schools and other D-1 schools expressing interest, he is also being pursued by Ivy League schools.”
Added Crawford: “He’s a great kid with a wonderful work ethic, so he is deserving in so many ways. He will have some choices to make.”
