IRVINE — Shelby Haroldson scored the go-ahead goal and Ruth Milne made two huge saves, lifting UCSB to a 10-9 comeback win over UC Davis on Saturday at the Big West women’s water polo tournament.
The Gauchos will play for Cal State Northridge for fifth place on Sunday.
Samantha Murphy scored four goals to lead UCSB, which rebounded from a loss against San Diego State.
The Gauchos trailed 9-5 in the third quarter when sophomore Lauren Martin scored two goals to spark the comeback.
Murphy tied the score at 8-8 in the fourth period and Jade Wentz-Fitzgerald followed with a goal with 5:08 left in the quarter to give the Gauchos a 9-8 lead.
The Aggies tied the score before Haroldson converted a cross-cage shot for the lead. The Aggies called a time out in hopes of scoring a goal, but Milne made big plays in goal to secure the victory.
