TEN: SBCC ousted in first round by College of the Desert

College of the Desert went 2-1 in doubles, then swept the first three singles to beat SBCC 5-1 in a Southern Cal Regional men’s tennis quarterfinal on Tuesday in Palm Desert.

The Roadrunners, champions of the Foothill Conference, were seeded No. 2 and have won 13 state championships. The seventh-seeded Vaqueros, making their first Regional appearance in 12 years, ended their season at 8-6.

Fabian Lundberg, who plays No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles for SBCC, missed the match with strep throat.

Logan Liddell and Marius Moelsgaard got the lone point for Santa Barbara, winning a tiebreaker 7-4 to take the pro set 9-8.
