SFT: Abbott, Lucido hold down L.A. Pierce

Alex Abbott and Victoria Lucido held L.A. Pierce to three runs on one hit on Tuesday, leading SBCC to an 11-3 WSC Gold softball victory in five innings at Woodland Hills.

Natalie Orosco went 2-3 with three RBIs and Kiersty Briner was 3-3 for the Vaqueros (11-20, 6-4). Abbott struck out four batters while pitching the first three innings.

Karen Ochoa and Amanda Caras both went 2-3 on a day when Santa Barbara collected 12 hits. Caras had a two-run single during a four-run first inning. Danielle deCastro, Ochoa and Briner knocked in runs in the third, when the Vaqueros scored four more to take a 9-1 lead.

SBCC travels to Hancock on Thursday for a doubleheader at 1 p.m.
