Two members of the Presidio Fencing Club in Santa Barbara took gold medals in their respective events Sunday, April 14 at a tournament held at UCSB’s Rob Gym.
Jieh Meinhold overcame a large field of 42 fencers to prevail in the foil match. Jeih is a junior at Dos Pueblos High School and has been fencing with the club for over 4 years.
Oliver Bublitz competed in the epee match and won his gold medal fencing against a large contingent of Cal Poly SLO and UCSB fencers. Oliver is a junior at San Marcos High School and has been with the club for 6 years.
