Laguna Blanca played strong defense at the net in Thursday’s win over Bishop Diego.
Laguna Blanca claimed a crosstown victory over Bishop Diego on Thursday night in a 25-21, 20-25, 25-20, 25-17 decision in Merovick Gym.
The Owls, the No. 2 team in Division 5, extended their winning streak to 12 matches while beating the Cardinals, a division 2 team.
“An all around solid defensive effort by the guys tonight. This was the best I have seen this team play defense all season,” said Laguna Blanca head coach Dillan Bennett.
JT Aubrey tallied 24 digs and Ryan Bickett added 21. Aubrey’s nine kills were also a team high.
Will Busch led the Cardinals with 14 kills, 20 digs and six blocks. Chandler Swift posted an 11 kill-15 dig double-double and Grant Sexton added 11 kills, eight digs.
Bishop Diego falls to 7-6 (7-4 TVL) on the season.
