BB: Rams stopped for first time

Cate’s baseball team suffered its first loss of the season on Wednesday in a 4-3 setback to New Community Jewish.

The Jaguars grabbed a 4-0 lead with two runs in each of the second and third innings.

Cate rallied with three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Erik Lowe singled home two runs and Chris Oh cashed in another on an RBI groundout.

“They did a good job of putting pressure on us,” explained Rams assistant coach Dave Soto.

The Rams are now 4-1 on the season. Up next is a game on Friday against Pacifica Christian, the team that knocked Cate from the CIF playoffs last season.

The Jaguars improve to 5-2.
