BB: Cate erases 7-run deficit in victory

Despite falling behind 7-0 after the first two innings, Cate’s baseball team found a way to win on Wednesday at Faith Baptist.

The Rams came-from-behind to win 14-9 with starting pitcher Justin Lucchesi hanging in for the victory.

Lucchesi pitched into the seventh inning to improve to 5-1. Cate is 6-1 as a team.

The Cate rally began with six runs in the top of the third. The Rams took the lead for the first time with two more runs in the top of the fourth. Three more in the fifth made the score 11-7 in Cate’s favor.

Zach Ell’s bat helped Cate puts runs on the scoreboard. The catcher had three extra-base hits, including a two-run home run in the fifth.

Mike Downs matched Ell’s productivity with two doubles and a two-run home run of his own for Faith Baptist.

Erik Lowe and Lucchesi recorded two hits each for Cate.
