BB: Cardinals take first with Oak Park

Nolan Tooley allowed a single earned run in a complete-game effort on Wednesday, leading Bishop Diego’s baseball team to a 6-4 Tri-Valley League win over Oak Park.

Tooley struck out six and gave up five hits and five walks.

The offense went right to work, posting a pair of runs in the bottom of the first. John Salda delivered a two-run single to bring home Jack Gregson and Scott Mandrell.

Oak Park took a 4-2 lead with a four-run fourth, a lead that didn’t last long with the Cardinals scoring four runs of their own in the bottom of the fourth.

Mandrell and Cole Atelian had two hits each for Bishop, which improves to 3-2 in league and 9-7 overall. The Cardinals play Oak Park again on Friday.
