Ten: Chargers hold off Tigers

Dos Pueblos claimed 8-of-9 doubles sets on its way to a 12-6 non-league win over San Luis Obispo on Wednesday.

The Chargers’ top two doubles teams swept their six sets, winning half by more than one break of serve. Mason Casady and Joshua Wang won theirs 6-4, 6-1, 6-4, and Caleb Franzen and Alex Yang 6-2, 7-5, and 6-2.

“Today we concentrated on closing out sets and it showed. I am proud of our team’s performance,” said Chargers head coach Liz Frech.

Patrick Corpuz’s singles sweep sealed the victory for Dos Pueblos, now 3-2 on the season. Dos Pueblos led 8-4 going into the final round, needing late wins to close out the win.

The Chargers’ next match is eight days from now in their Channel League opener with Buena.
