Spenser Wyatt led Laguna Blanca with 24 points in Friday’s win over Thacher.

Sophomore guard Spenser Wyatt led the Owls to a 54-43 win Friday night with 22 points off the bench.

Wyatt was consistent all night long, scoring 10 in the first half and 12 in the second. Senior guard J.T. Aubrey rattled in 11 of his own in his final regular season game as an Owl on three 3’s. Michael Reyes put in 7 of his own.

Rallying behind a raucous crowd, which was brought to life by a half-time, half-court shot contest, the Owls dominated the fourth quarter 18-7 after a 36-36 tie after 3 quarters of play.

Wyatt, who has gained the nickname of the ‘Red Mamba’ was 8-10 from the line, 2-3 from behind the arc, pulled down 5 boards and had 4 assists in extended minutes off the bench.

Stephen McCaffery had 5 points and Andrew Vignolo helped control the paint. The Owls, who trailed 27-26 at the half, will anxiously await their seeding in the CIF division 5A bracket on Sunday.

The loss forced Thacher into a coin flip to decide second place in the Condor division with Cate.
