Carpinteria’s girls water polo team kept up its winning ways on Friday by recording a 16-3 Tri-Valley League victory over Villanova.
The Warriors are now 7-1 in league play after a big win over Malibu on Wednesday.
“After Wednesday’s game versus Malibu, we were a little worried about a “trap” game and wanted to start fast to avoid that,” explained Warriors head coach Bryan Swarm.
Start fast they did, gaining a 9-1 lead by halftime.
Hope Grant scored six times and Maddie Brooks added four goals. Goalie Vanessa Vega blocked 10 shots and scored a goal in the second half while Elena Benidze spent time defending the Warriors’ cage.
Carpinteria (14-9, 7-1) completes its regular season with two TVL matches next week. CIF playoff pairings will be released the following Monday.
