Cate’s girls water polo team kept its playoff hopes alive by beating Oaks Christian 7-5 in a Tri-Valley League game on Friday in the Rams’ pool.
Cate can clinch a playoff berth with a victory at Nordhoff on Saturday.
Leading 6-4, Caroline Montgomery’s score from the perimeter gave Cate a comfortable cushion in the fourth quarter.
Sophie Maes and Cate started the game strong as the junior scored three times in the first quarter. Montgomery had another goal as did Maddie Schrager in the early going.
Sophia Soriano also scored for Cate.
