The top-seeded team in Division 1 had no problems in its CIF opener on Wednesday, as Santa Barbara disposed of visiting Huntington Beach 17-7.
It is the 19th straight win for the Dons, who have not yet lost in 2013. Santa Barbara (24-4) will host Irvine (15-13) in Saturday’s quarterfinals at 2 p.m. Irvine defeated Villa Park 7-3.
Santa Barbara led Huntington 8-4 at halftime. The Dons extended their lead to 13-7 going into the final period.
Kelsey O’Brien dominated, leading all scorers with five goals to go with five assists and six steals. Anna Brummett, Rocio Fesembeck, Jessica Gaffney and Betsy Hendrix all scored two each. Gaffney and Sophie Trabucco both had three assists.
