Every starter scored for Santa Barbara High’s girls water polo team in Friday’s 6-4 victory over Laguna Beach at the SoCal Championships in Irvine.
The result advances the Dons into Saturday’s semifinals, where they will play Newport Harbor at 11 a.m.
Santa Barbara has won both matches so far this season with the Sailors. It’s a matchup of the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds and the same two teams last met in the final of the Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions two weeks ago.
Dons head coach Mark Walsh was pleased with his team’s defense in the quarterfinal with Laguna Beach.
Laguna Beach’s ODP MacKenzie Fischer was held without a goal.
Maddie Trabucco blocked 12 shots in the cage and the team combined for six field blocks. Kelsey O’Brien collected four steals.
It was the 14th win in a row for Santa Barbara.
