Top-ranked Santa Barbara HIgh’s girls water polo team held a pair of Long Beach schools to three goals on the opening day of the South Coast Championships.
The Dons defeated Long Beach Poly 13-3 and followed up with 15-3 win over Long Beach Wilson to advance to Friday’s quarterfinals against Laguna Beach.
Erin McGeoy and Sophie Trabucco each scored three goals in the win over Poly. Against Wilson, Betsy Hendrix went off for five goals and Claire Bergtholdz added three.
The Dons improve to 18-4.
