‘Zero to 100’ using Kickstarter to stay on message

If you’re a fan of independent movies and inspirational stories, then this for you.

You can even be a part of it.

Filmmaker Aaron Lieber and professional surfer Lakey Peterson passionately believe their new film, Zero to 100 – The Lakey Peterson Story, can inspire others to do great things.

In order to get the message out there in the purest way possible, they’re using Kickstarter to help fund the year-long chronicle of Lakey’s rookie season on the ASP World Tour that “is about pushing boundaries, changing lives and making dreams come true.”

Kickstarter is a website that supplies a funding platform for creative projects.

Using Kickstarter allows Lieber and Peterson to maintain control of the film’s message, which is “to inspire kids to live virtuous lives, find their greatness and recognize the need to help one another to do this.”

The deadline for this project is this Tuesday. Over $16,000 has been committed already but there’s still $9,000 to go.

Contributors can donate as little as $1. All supporter levels, many listed below, above $5 will have their names included in the closing credits of the film. Other perks include autographed copies of the DVD and VIP Pre-Party access at the World Premiere. Find out how to contribute HERE

The film is expected to have its world premiere in Lakey’s hometown of Santa Barbara in late February.

Peterson, 18, begins her second year on the ASP Women’s World Tour in February. As a 17 year old, Peterson closed out her rookie season by winning the U.S. Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach.
