Carpinteria’s girls water polo team scored the final four goals of Wednesday’s Tri-Valley League game with Malibu to overcome the Sharks 8-7.
Hope Grant scored the game winner, which came with 13 seconds left in the match.
The Warriors trailed 7-4 in the third quarter. Carpinteria goalie Vanessa Vega blocked a penalty shot in the fourth quarter to keep the Sharks stuck on seven.
Carpinteria caught the Sharks at 7-7 with 1:18 remaining.
Grant and Maddie Brooks both scored four times for the Warriors and Vega recorded eight saves.
Carpinteria has won six of seven league games this season, with their only loss being an earlier setback to Malibu.
